This page exists because “wayk app cost” is one of the things people search before they install it, and the App Store buries the tier list at the bottom of the page. Everything here comes from Wayk’s own listing on 12 August 2026. If your screen says something different, believe your screen.
What Wayk lists
| Purchase | Listed price | Works out at |
|---|---|---|
| Download the app | $0 | Setup questions only; the listing says alarms need Pro |
| Monthly Access | $9.99 | About $119.88 across a year |
| Yearly Access, lowest listed | $19.99 | About $1.67 a month |
| Yearly Access, middle tier | $29.99 | About $2.50 a month |
| Yearly Access, highest listed | $59.99 | About $5.00 a month |
| Generate Alarm Sounds | $1.99 | Separate purchase, not part of a plan |
The headline number most people quote is the $9.99 monthly one. It is also the most expensive way to run the app for a year: monthly costs roughly six times the lowest listed annual tier.
Is Wayk free?
It is free to download, and free to get through the setup questions. Beyond that, Wayk’s listing is unusually direct about it. Under a SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED heading, the description states that an active Wayk Pro subscription is required to set alarms and use missions.
So there is no permanently free alarm the way there is in some other apps in this category. That is a deliberate model rather than a trick, and 18,000 ratings at 4.8 stars suggest plenty of people are fine with it. It does mean you commit before you find out whether pushups at 6am work on you, which is the only question that actually matters.
Wayk’s listing does not state an introductory free-trial length, so we are not going to invent one. Any trial or intro offer attached to the tier you are shown appears on Apple’s purchase sheet before you confirm. Read that sheet, not an article.
Why you and your friend may see different prices
Wayk lists several yearly tiers at once: $19.99, $29.99 and $59.99. That normally means different offers, promotions or regional price points running in parallel rather than a single published price. Which one you are shown depends on which offer you land in.
Two practical consequences:
- Do not treat any article’s number as your price, including this one. The confirmation sheet is the only authority.
- If you are already subscribed monthly and plan to keep the app, switching to an annual tier inside iOS Settings is usually a bigger saving than switching apps entirely.
How to check what you are actually paying
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
- Select Wayk to see the tier, the price and the renewal date
The same screen is where you change plan or cancel. Cancelling leaves you with access until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple rather than by any app developer, through reportaproblem.apple.com. This is standard App Store behaviour and it applies to Mornio exactly the same way.
How Wayk’s pricing compares
| App | Monthly | Yearly | Usable without paying? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wayk | $9.99 | $19.99–$59.99 | Listing states Pro is required to set alarms |
| Mornio | $7.99 | $29.99 | Free tier, plus 3 Protected Mornings |
| Apple Clock | Free | Free | Yes, but no mission and no follow-up check |
| SuperAlarm | $7.99 | From $14.99 | Free with ads; $2.99/mo more to remove them |
| Kiwake | $1.99 | $14.99 | Last published version dated April 2021 |
| Alarmy | Many tiers, roughly $4.99–$69.99 | Free tier; carries “Contains Advertising” | |
Read that table honestly and Wayk is not expensive at its lowest annual tier. $19.99 a year undercuts Mornio’s $29.99, and SuperAlarm and Kiwake are cheaper again. Where Wayk costs more than the category is on the monthly plan, and where it differs from most rivals is that there is no free rung to stand on first.
If the price is your only objection
Then the answer is probably not a different app. Move to Wayk’s annual tier and you are paying between $1.67 and $5.00 a month for six mission types, streaks and morning insights, from a developer that shipped an update on 30 July 2026. For a lot of people that is a fair deal, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Where the calculation changes is if your real problem is not the price at all. If you can already turn an alarm off and get back into bed, no number of pushups helps, because the failure happens after the mission is done. That specific gap is the thing Mornio’s stay-awake check was built for: a few minutes after you dismiss the alarm, it asks again, and if you do not respond the alarm restarts. Mornio’s free tier lets you test that on one alarm without paying anything, and three Protected Mornings unlock the rest with no card.
Two things to know before you switch on price alone: Mornio needs iOS 26.1, which is a much higher bar than Wayk’s iOS 17, and it has one mission, the QR or barcode scan, against Wayk’s six. If you wanted variety, going to Mornio is a downgrade.
