Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 June 2026 · Effective date: 14 June 2026

Please read the limitations. Mornio is a tool that helps reduce the risk of oversleeping — it is not a guarantee that you will wake up, and it is not an emergency or medical service. Sections 4–8 explain this in plain language. Keep using a setup you trust for anything truly critical.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Mornio (“Mornio”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Mornio app and website. By downloading, installing or using Mornio, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Mornio.

2. Description of the service

Mornio is an iPhone alarm app for everyday mornings — and for the ones you can’t afford to miss. It can set a primary alarm and a backup alarm, ask you to scan a QR code or barcode you registered to dismiss the alarm (the Wake Check), check again a few minutes later that you stayed awake (the stay-awake check), and restart the alarm if you don’t respond. Some features are free and some require a Mornio Pro purchase (see sections 9–10). Mornio requires iOS 26.1 or later and is available only on iPhone.

3. Your responsibilities

Mornio is one layer of protection, not a substitute for sensible precautions. You are responsible for setting your alarms correctly, keeping the codes you registered accessible, granting the permissions Mornio needs, and keeping your iPhone charged and able to ring. For anything you absolutely cannot miss, we recommend using an additional independent alarm as well.

4. Alarm and device limitations

Mornio relies on your iPhone and Apple’s system features. It cannot work if, for example, your phone is switched off or the battery is dead at the alarm time, required permissions are denied, the device is damaged, storage or the operating system is malfunctioning, or settings prevent the alarm from sounding. These conditions are outside Mornio’s control.

5. No guarantee that you will wake up

Mornio is designed to help reduce the risk of oversleeping and to check whether you stayed awake. It does not and cannot guarantee that you will wake up, that you will hear or respond to an alarm, or that an alarm will never be missed. Individual sleep is different for everyone. Do not rely on Mornio as your only safeguard for a situation where missing the morning would cause serious harm.

6. Check your device settings

For the best chance of a reliable alarm, regularly check your iOS version, that Mornio’s alarm and notification permissions are granted, that the alarm is enabled and set for the right time, that the battery will last, and how your volume, Focus and silent-mode settings are configured. The Support page includes a checklist.

7. Not an emergency service

Mornio is not an emergency service and must not be used as one. It does not contact emergency services and cannot guarantee that any message or alert reaches anyone. Never depend on Mornio in a situation that requires emergency assistance.

8. Not a medical product

Mornio is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, monitor or prevent any medical or sleep condition. It makes no medical claims. If you have a sleep disorder or any health concern affecting waking, please consult a qualified professional.

9. Free features

Mornio’s free experience includes one protected alarm with a QR or barcode Wake Check, the bedtime safety check, a set of standard alarm sounds and your recent alarm history. New users also receive a limited number of “Protected Mornings” to try the full Pro experience at no cost. Free features are provided as-is and may change over time.

10. Mornio Pro

Mornio Pro unlocks additional features, which currently include unlimited protected alarms, the stay-awake check with automatic restart, premium alarm sounds and full alarm history. Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (for example monthly or annual) and/or a one-time purchase option, as shown in the app. The exact features, plans and prices are those displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

11. Billing, subscription duration and automatic renewal

All purchases are made through Apple’s in-app purchase system and billed to your Apple Account. An auto-renewing subscription continues for the chosen period (for example one month or one year) and renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple Account for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. A one-time purchase, where offered, does not renew.

12. Managing, cancelling and restoring purchases

You can view, change or cancel a subscription at any time in the iOS Settings app, under your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. If you reinstall Mornio or set up a new iPhone, use Restore Purchases in Mornio’s settings, or sign in with the same Apple Account, to restore your entitlement.

13. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its terms, not by Mornio directly. You can request a refund through Apple (for example at reportaproblem.apple.com). We’re happy to help where we can — contact support@mornioapp.com.

14. Acceptable use

Please use Mornio lawfully and as intended. Don’t attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, disrupt or misuse the app or its security, don’t use it to break any law, and don’t try to circumvent purchase or licensing controls. We may limit or end access that breaches these terms.

15. Intellectual property

Mornio, including its name, branding, design, text and software, is owned by Mornio and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Mornio on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the App Store terms. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the app.

16. Availability and updates

We aim to keep Mornio available and working, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and some updates or features may require a current iOS version or device.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mornio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any alarm will always sound or wake you. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mornio and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from a missed alarm, oversleeping, or failure to wake, whether or not we were advised such losses were possible. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable).

19. Changes to the service

We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of Mornio at any time. Where reasonable, we’ll try to give notice of significant changes.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and continued use of Mornio after an update means you accept the revised terms.

21. Termination

You may stop using Mornio at any time and delete the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or misuse the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
