We read every message and reply as soon as we can. Mornio is run by a small team, so please allow a little time for a response.
Alarm troubleshooting
If an alarm didn’t behave the way you expected, run through these checks. They cover the most common causes and are good things to verify the night before an important morning.
Device & iOS
- iOS version — Mornio needs iOS 26.1 or later. Check Settings → General → About → iOS Version, and update if needed.
- Current app version — make sure you’re on the latest Mornio from the App Store; Mornio’s version is shown in its Settings screen.
- Restart the device — if something seems stuck, restart your iPhone and reopen Mornio so it can re-check your alarms.
Permissions
- Alarm permission — Mornio needs permission to schedule reliable alarms. If you declined it, re-enable it from Mornio’s setup or your iOS settings.
- Notification permission — used for supplementary reminders (such as low-battery warnings). Check Settings → Notifications → Mornio.
The alarm itself
- Alarm enabled — confirm the alarm is switched on, not paused.
- Scheduled time & days — double-check the time, AM/PM, and the repeat days are what you intended.
Power, sound & Focus
- Battery level — keep your iPhone charged overnight; an alarm can’t sound on a phone that has powered off.
- Silent Mode & volume — Mornio’s reliable alarm is designed to sound through silent mode, but it’s still worth checking your settings the night before.
- Focus settings — review any Sleep or Do Not Disturb Focus you have scheduled so you understand how your phone will behave.
Alarm came back after you dismissed it? That’s the stay-awake check. A few minutes after you dismiss the alarm, Mornio checks that you stayed up and restarts protection if you don’t respond. You can change the stay-awake check delay — or turn it off — when you create or edit an alarm.
Mornio is designed to help reduce the risk of oversleeping, but no app can promise you’ll wake up. For a truly critical morning, set an additional independent alarm as a backup.
Wake Check (QR & barcode) troubleshooting
Scanning problems
- Camera permission — scanning needs camera access. If you declined it, enable it in Settings → Mornio → Camera.
- Poor lighting — turn on a light or use the torch toggle in the scanner; very dim or glare-heavy scenes are hard to read.
- Damaged or creased codes — a torn, faded, wet or wrinkled barcode may not scan. Use a clean, flat code.
“It won’t accept the code”
- Wrong item — Mornio only accepts the exact code you registered. A different QR or barcode won’t dismiss the alarm.
- Use the backup item — if you set an optional backup code, scan that instead.
- Replacing an item — to switch to a new code, re-scan it from the alarm’s Wake Check settings (or manage saved items in Mornio’s Settings).
Emergency dismissal. If you genuinely can’t reach either your primary or backup code, Mornio has an emergency dismissal so you’re never locked out. It turns the alarm off and records that the emergency exit was used, so you can see it later in your history.
Purchases & Mornio Pro
Restore a purchase
- Open Mornio’s settings and tap Restore Purchases.
- Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy Pro. Purchases are tied to that account.
Manage or cancel
- Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
Purchase pending
- Some purchases need approval (for example “Ask to Buy”). Pro unlocks automatically once Apple approves it — no need to buy again.
Purchase failed / Pro missing
- Purchase failed — check your connection and payment method, then try again. If it didn’t complete, you won’t be charged.
- Pro not appearing — try Restore Purchases, confirm the correct Apple Account, and check your connection. Still stuck? Email us.
Data & privacy
Erase all Mornio data
- Open Mornio’s Settings → Erase all Mornio data.
- This permanently deletes your alarms, saved verification methods, alarm history and preferences on that iPhone. It can’t be undone.
What gets removed
- Your alarms and alarm history are deleted from the device.
- Erasing local data does not cancel an Apple subscription — manage that under your Apple Account in iOS Settings.
- Read the full Privacy Policy for exactly what’s stored and where.
Reporting a problem
The more detail you include, the faster we can help. When you email support@mornioapp.com, please tell us:
- Your iPhone model (for example iPhone 15 Pro)
- Your iOS version
- Your Mornio version and build number (shown in Mornio’s Settings)
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
- The approximate alarm time involved
- Whether the screen was locked at the time
- Whether Focus or Silent Mode was enabled
Please don’t send the contents of your private QR codes or barcodes. We never need the actual code value to help you, and you should keep it private.
